The short version

Your photo, its depth measurement and the clip you make never leave your device. There are no cookies, no analytics and no tracking. The only things that reach a server are what a visit to any website sends, and, if you pay, what is needed to unlock your browser.

Visiting the site

The site is served by Cloudflare. Like any host, Cloudflare sees your IP address, your browser type and the files it sends you, and keeps that in its logs for a short time to run and protect the service. Every file the page loads, including the depth model, comes from nostalgiar.com itself. Nothing is loaded from anyone else.

Paying

When you pay, you leave for Stripe's checkout page. There Stripe collects your card details and your email to take the payment for nostalgiar, under its own privacy policy. nostalgiar never sees your card.

When you come back, your browser sends two things to nostalgiar's server: the id of your Stripe checkout and a random id your browser made for itself. The server asks Stripe whether the checkout was paid and, if so, unlocks your browser. It keeps the checkout id together with up to five browser ids for two years, in Cloudflare's key-value store, so one purchase cannot unlock more than five devices. The server does not keep your email or your name.

If you unlock another device with "Already paid?", the email you type is sent to nostalgiar's server and on to Stripe to find your purchase. It is not stored by nostalgiar.

What is kept on your device

• The unlock itself and the random browser id, in your browser's local storage, until you clear the site's data.
• While you pay, the photo and its measurement, in the browser's own database, so the clip can be made again when you return. It is gone after an hour.
• The depth model, in your browser's cache, so it is not downloaded twice.

None of these are used to recognise or follow you. Clearing the site's data in your browser removes them all.

Why this is allowed

Delivering the unlock you paid for is the contract between us. Running and protecting the site is a legitimate interest. Nothing else is done with your data, and nothing is sold or shared for advertising.

Where the data goes

Cloudflare and Stripe are companies with servers in the EU and the United States. Both are covered by the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and standard contractual clauses.

Your rights

You can ask what is held about you, have it corrected or deleted, and object to its use. Email httpframe@gmail.com. For the card data Stripe holds, ask Stripe. If you are not happy with an answer, you can complain to the Belgian data protection authority, the Gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit, Drukpersstraat 35, 1000 Brussels.
